Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Introduction
Although Omnicare Services Limited does not meet the threshold under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (having an annual turnover well below £36 million), we are committed to operating in an ethical and transparent manner. We voluntarily publish this Modern Slavery Statement to outline the steps we are taking to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within our business or supply chains.
Our Business and Structure
Omnicare Services Limited is a small business operating in the health and social care sector, with services delivered primarily within the United Kingdom. Our business is built on the core values of respect, integrity, and responsibility. We currently employ a small team and work with a limited number of suppliers, most of whom are UK-based and provide services such as office supplies, IT support, and professional consultancy.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
Acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.
Continually reviewing our practices to improve our ability to identify and manage risks related to modern slavery.
Our Supply Chain
Due to the size and nature of our business, our supply chain is simple and considered low risk. We primarily source products and services from UK-based companies in low-risk sectors. However, we acknowledge that certain areas, such as the use of temporary workers or outsourced cleaning services, may present higher risk and we take extra care to assess these accordingly.
We seek to engage with suppliers who share our values and demonstrate a commitment to ethical labour practices.ices.
Due Diligence Processes
To manage the risk of modern slavery, we:
Work only with reputable suppliers and service providers.
Include clauses in new contracts requiring suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act, where applicable.
Conduct informal supplier assessments during onboarding and periodically thereafter.
Monitor and review supplier relationships for any emerging risks.
Take steps to discontinue relationships with any supplier failing to meet our standards.
Risk Assessment and Management
While the overall risk of slavery and human trafficking in our business and direct supply chain is low, we conduct risk assessments in relation to:
Services that involve low-paid, manual, or outsourced labour.
Suppliers who may, in turn, subcontract to other entities.
We manage identified risks through supplier engagement, review of compliance documentation, and internal controls.
Measuring Effectiveness
We assess the effectiveness of our actions through:
Completion rates of mandatory staff training on ethical business practices.
Regular review of our supplier base and contract terms.
Zero reported incidents related to modern slavery via our internal reporting mechanisms.
Inclusion of modern slavery considerations in annual management reviews.
Training and Awareness
Given our size, we maintain awareness among our team through:
A staff handbook that outlines our expectations regarding ethical practices and modern slavery.
Management briefings that include discussions on modern slavery risks and compliance.
Mandatory annual training covering topics such as identifying signs of exploitation and understanding supply chain risk.
This statement has been approved by the Director of Omnicare Services Limited and will be reviewed annually to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness.
